EM GHENOA "Ghenna"

2003 CHESTNUT HANOVERIAN MARE, 15.3H
(Gold Luck-Anike/Archipel)

EM Ghenoa is a 2003 chestnut Hanoverian mare by Gold Luck and out of the Hanoverian mare Anike by Archipel. She was bred by Mo Swanson of Rolling Stone Farm and purchased as a weanling.

On March 26, 2008, she fulfilled her Elite Mare requirements by producing her first foal Wrizsotto, by Harmony's Wamberto (Rousseau/ Voltaire/ Dutchboy), the 2006 Champion of the KWPN Stallion Show as well as the clear overall winner of the 2007 100-Day Stallion Performance Test at Paxton Farm. Earning perfect 10’s for his character and canter, and 8’s and 9’s for his walk, trot, and rideability, Wamberto won the test with an impressive margin. His overall performance index was 158.78, where the second placed stallion earned 135.52. With a dressage index of 168.87 and a jumping index of 145.15, Wamberto strongly demonstrated his versatility and outstanding athletic ability.

We were honored to have Ghenoa accepted as one of the qualified mares in his first limited booking and are thrilled with the quality of her first filly. Ghenoa will return to work under saddle after her filly is weaned.

Lineage
Gold Luck Gold Luck
Gold Luck has been a leading sire on the USEF list for dressage horses each year. His pedigree contains some of Hannover's most noted dressage sires, including those of the legendary Grande line. His motherline also includes the influential A-line which descends from the renowned Absatz. His dam, Annette by Abundance, scored 8.2 at her mare inspection. Anike
Dam Anike has proven to be an exceptional broodmare after her performance career as an amateur dressage horse. In addition to Ghenoa's successes, her 2002 filly Ghamma Ray, by Gold Luck, was the co-winner of the 2005 AHS MPT Benchmark Jumping Trophy and finished fourth overall out of the 98 mares taking the AHS Mare Performance Test in 2005 with a score of 7.88, including two 9's in jumping.
Grundstein I Grundstein I
Ghenoa's paternal grandsire was the legendary Grand Prix Dressage Stallion Grundstein I, who was imported to the US in 1985 after siring 13 fully approved breeding stallions in Germany. He was a leading sire in the FN rankings among stallions in the top 10% of their age group in both jumping and dressage for many years. In 1995 Grundstein's dressage index was 178 and his jumping index was 142.
Archipel
Archipel, a son of the great Argentan, finished the stallion performance test in 1987 at Adelheidsdorf ranking 5th out of 38 (5th in the dressage department, 8th in jumping). He served at Celle States Stud and was an entitled winner of a bronze medal of the German agricultural society. He is known as a producer of outstanding types with confirmed brilliant basic gaits and a bit of a spooky temperament. Archipel sold to Sweden as a sire in 1997.
Argentan I
Argentan was one of the most important founding sires of the modern Hannoverian. Argentan was Reserve Champion of his stallion licensing in 1969, and the following year, was 4th out of 15 candidates in the performance test.

In 1994 he was crowned Hannoverian Stallion of the Year as a result of his extraordinary success as a sire. Argentan was the sire of 805 competition horses who won a total of DM1,648,638. His broodmares in particular were highly regarded and included three Champion German Riding Horse mares at the DLG show: Aragonia (1978), Ascona (1980) and Arabella (1984). However he was also the sire of some top performers including Mario Deslauriers 1984 World Cup winner, Aramis. He was the sire of 19 stallion sons, including Airport, Al Capone and most famed of all, Argentinus.

Weltbekannt Absatz
The Chestnut Hanoverian Stallion Absatz (Abglanz/Landmoor/Landdeck);1960; 16 h; was noted for endowing his foals with light, free action, superb conformation and an unparalleled disposition, which made them extremely easy to train. His sire, the Trakehner Abglanz (Termit/Abendluft/Poiseidon), was the founder of new bloodlines in Hannover. His infusion of Trakehner lightness and 'blood' can be clearly seen in today's modern Hannoverian horse and is credited with bringing about great improvement in the head and neck of the Hanoverian horses.
